Heading off on a campervan adventure around New Zealand with your significant other or best friend is a wonderful way to make some amazing memories, and we have a range of self-contained vehicles designed just for two.
When travelling couple Alex and James (aka ‘Twosome Travellers’) came to New Zealand, they booked a Helix 2, which is more compact than some other motorhomes in the Wilderness fleet at just under 6m long, but still features all the comforts of the other self-contained vehicles. This made getting off the beaten track even easier, as you can see in the beautiful highlights video of their North Island trip.
For regular motorhome travellers and RV experts, Heath and Alyssa Padgett, the larger Alpine 2 was perfect for their six weeks on the road as they travelled the length and breadth of New Zealand.
They couple loved the choice of twin or king bed configurations (perfect for friends travelling, or if one of you wants to read late or watch a movie), while Alyssa was also really impressed with the ample storage, large dining table, and fridge that runs on mains, battery or propane gas – ideal if you’re keen to freedom camp.
For Heath, the WiFi coverage was a bonus, and he described the bathroom as a “10 on the scale of coolness” for the fact a swivelling wall separates the toilet and shower areas when needed. Take a look inside the Alpine 2 with Heath and Alyssa.
The latest addition to the Wilderness fleet is the Vista 2 – a compact, cleverly designed motorhome that features a large sliding door on the side, and rear doors that open up to make the most of the landscape.
The bed can be configured as two singles or a large double, while a dinette, gas hob, fridge, and combined bathroom and shower make life on the road easy. The Vista 2 is also less than 6.5m long, making it easy to drive and park and, like all Wilderness motorhomes, it’s certified self-contained for freedom camping.
