Fridge leaking water

If you notice water pooling inside or under the fridge, it’s usually caused by the small drain hole at the back of the fridge becoming blocked. This hole drains condensation from the fridge into a small container outside the cooling compartment. When it’s blocked by dirt or food particles, water can build up and leak inside the fridge or onto the floor.

Diagnostics & Steps to Resolve:

  1. Locate the drain hole inside the fridge.
Pull out the vegetable drawer and look at the centre of the rear wall of the fridge. You’ll see a small hole, about the size of a 5-cent coin. This hole connects to a tube that allows condensation water to drain away.Fridge Drain Hole

  2. Clean the drain hole.
Use the end of a tissue, paper towel (kitchen roll), or soft cloth to gently remove any dirt, crumbs, or food particles from the hole. Clearing the blockage should allow the condensation water to drain properly again.

  3. Wipe away excess water.
Use a cloth or paper towel to dry any water inside the fridge or on nearby surfaces.
