Head unit (stereo) not turning on

Your in-cab head unit (stereo screen) runs on the 12V house (habitation) batteries, not the engine starter battery. That lets you use it while camping with the engine off. If it won’t power on, the most common causes are: the cab stereo power toggle is OFF, the 12V system is OFF, or the head unit needs a manual wake.

Diagnostics & Steps to Resolve:

  1. Check the cab stereo power toggle is ON
    1. From the driver’s seat, locate the small stereo power toggle by your left knee and switch it ON
  2.  Quick power test: use the reversing camera
    1. Start the engine

    2. Select Reverse

    3. Check if the reversing camera image appears on the head unit display.

    4. If yes, the head unit is receiving power. Go to step 3. If no, the head unit is not receiving power. Skip to step 4.

  1. Wake the head unit

    1. With ignition on, press the head unit’s Power button/icon once

    2. No response? Press and hold the Power button for 3–5 seconds

    3. Increase screen brightness, unmute and raise volume, and select the correct source (Radio/Bluetooth/CarPlay/Android Auto)

  2. Turn ON the 12V power system

    1. Go to the main control panel (by the habitation door) and switch the 12V house battery ON

    2. Quick test: Turn on an interior light—if it works, the 12V system has power.

    3. If lights are dim or not working, connect to 240V mains power at your campsite to recharge

  3. Retest the head unit

    1. Toggle the cab stereo power switch OFF then ON

    2. Start the engine, select Reverse, and check the display again
