Loud buzzing sound when turning on engine ignition

An alarm with a loud continuous buzzing will sound when you turn the engine ignition key to start the engine, and the habitation door step is extended. The alarm sound will continue even if you turn on the engine. This is a safety feature to make sure you don’t drive away with the step out. The buzzing will stop once the step is fully retracted.

Diagnostics & Steps to Resolve:

  1. Check the entry step at the habitation door. Stand outside the motorhome and look to see if the step to enter the back of the motorhome is extended.

  2. Retract the step. Open the habitation door. Press and hold the step button located just inside the habitation door until the step is fully retracted under the motorhome body.

  3. If the alarm continues: Press and hold the step button to extend the step all the way out. Then, press and hold to close it again. Give the step a gentle nudge with your hand to push it fully in if required.

  4. If the alarm continues: Call Wilderness On-Road Support at +64 9 255 5300 for assistance.
