Motorhome stuck or bogged

If your motorhome becomes stuck in mud, sand, gravel, or soft ground, attempting to drive out can cause damage to the vehicle or worsen the situation. Professional recovery is the safest option.

Diagnostics & Steps to Resolve:

  1. Stop immediately. Do not continue accelerating or reversing—spinning wheels dig deeper and can damage the drivetrain.

  2. Do not attempt to free the motorhome by yourself.

  3. Call Wilderness On-Road Support at +64 9 255 5300. Our team will organise vehicle recovery for you.

  4. While waiting for recovery:

    1. Stay with the vehicle unless it's unsafe to do so

    2. Turn on hazard lights if near a road
