Motorhome Wi-Fi not working

Your Wilderness motorhome has onboard Wi-Fi powered by the One NZ mobile network. Connection issues are usually caused by: low coverage, the 12V system being off (the Wi-Fi modem requires 12V power to operate), or the modem needing a restart.

Diagnostics & Steps to Resolve:

  1. Check the 12V system is on. The Wi-Fi modem only works when the 12V power system is running.

    1. Go to the control panel at the habitation door and confirm the 12V house battery switch is ON

    2. Quick test: Turn on an interior light—if it works, the 12V system has power

    3. If batteries are low (lights dim or not working), connect to 240V mains power at your campsite to recharge

  2. Check mobile coverage. Visit the Wireless Nation Coverage Map and enter your location to confirm you’re within 4G coverage. If you are outside the coverage zone, the Wi-Fi won't work until you move to a covered area.

  3. Restart the modem. This resolves most connectivity issues.

    1. Locate the modem: Black circular device in a white wall mount, usually on the shelf above the passenger seat or inside the TV cupboard

    2. Rotate the modem slightly in its holder to access the power cable at the back

    3. Unplug the power cable, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in

    4. Wait 2–3 minutes for the modem to reboot and reconnect

  4. Factory reset the modem (if restart didn't work)

    1. Lift the modem out of its holder (ensure power cable is connected)

    2. Find the small RESET pinhole on the bottom of the modem

    3. Insert a pin or SIM tool until you feel a soft click—don't force it

    4. Hold for 15 seconds, then release

    5. Wait 2–3 minutes for the modem to fully reboot
