Television is on, but no image from Google TV

If the TV screen is on but you can’t see the Google TV home screen, either the wrong input/source is selected on the TV, or the Google TV (Chromecast with Google TV) is asleep or not powered. Follow the steps below to select the correct input and wake/power the Google TV.

Diagnostics & Steps to Resolve:

  1. Confirm TV power is on
    a. Make sure the 12V house battery is ON at the control panel
    b. The TV’s power light should be blue/on-screen active (red = standby). If red, use the TV’s rear power button or the black TV remote to turn it on

  2. Select the correct input (source)
    a. On the black TV remote, press Input/Source
    b. Choose the HDMI port your Google TV is plugged into (often HDMI 1 or HDMI 2)
    c. Wait a few seconds to see if the Google TV home screen appears

  3. Wake or power the Google TV
    a. On the white Google TV remote, press Home once to wake it from sleep
    b. If there’s no response, check the USB power cable is firmly connected to the Google TV and its power source (TV USB or power adaptor)
    c. If the Google TV LED is off/no response, unplug its power for 10 seconds, plug back in, and wait 30–60 seconds

  4. Check volume and mute
    a. Make sure the TV isn’t muted and the volume is up—you might have picture but think it’s not working if there’s no sound

  5. Still no image?
    a. Power-cycle the TV: turn 12V OFF at the control panel for 10 seconds, then ON; turn the TV back on and repeat Steps 2–4
    b. Do not remove panels or dismantle any wiring
