Television not working — power light not red

The TV in your motorhome is powered by the 12V house batteries. If the red power light is OFF, the television is not receiving power. This is usually caused by the 12V system being OFF or a loose/undone power connection at the back of the TV.

Diagnostics & Steps to Resolve:

  1. Confirm the 12V system is ON
    a. Go to the control panel by the habitation door and switch the 12V house battery ON
    b. Quick test: turn on an interior light—if it works, your 12V system has power
    c. If lights are dim or not working, connect to 240V mains power at your campsite to recharge, then retry

  2. Check the TV power connections
    a. Ensure the power cable is firmly plugged into the back of the TV
    b. Check the other end of the cable is securely connected to the TV’s 12V outlet/plug pack in the cupboard or near the mount
    c. Make sure any inline power switch (if fitted) is set to ON

  3. Power-cycle the 12V system (helps clear low-voltage accessories)
    a. Turn 12V OFF at the control panel for 10 seconds, then ON again
    b. Look for the red standby light returning on the TV

  4. Try the TV’s physical power button
    a. With the red light now showing, press the power/standby button on the back of the TV to turn it on
