Television not working — red power light on

The TV is powered by the 12V house batteries (not the engine battery). A red light means the TV has power and is in standby, not fully on. When it turns on, the light changes from red to blue. Most “no picture” issues with a red light are either the TV being left in standby, flat remote batteries, or the wrong input selected (the Smart TV/Google TV uses the HDMI input).

Diagnostics & Steps to Resolve:

  1. Confirm 12V power is ON
    a. At the control panel by the habitation door, check the 12V house battery is turned ON
    b. Quick test: switch on an interior light—if it works, your 12V system has power

  2. Wake the TV from standby
    a. Use the black TV remote and press the Power/Standby button once
    b. No response? Use the physical power button on the back of the TV to turn it on
    c. The power light should change red → blue when the screen turns on

  3. Check the input (for Smart TV/Google TV)
    a. Press Input/Source on the black TV remote and select HDMI
    b. Then press Power on the white Google TV remote to start the streaming device

  4. Replace the remote batteries
    a. If the TV only responds via the rear button, replace the batteries in the black TV remote (and the white Google TV remote if used)
    b. New batteries are available at supermarkets, service stations, or hardware stores

  5. Still seeing only the red light with no screen?
    a. Turn 12V OFF, wait 10 seconds, then ON again at the control panel to reset low-voltage accessories
    b. Try Step 2 once more (rear power button)
