Toilet flush (water flow) not working

Context: In a motorhome, the toilet flush is a two-step process: Use the grey lever beneath the toilet bowl to open the flap, allowing waste to drop into the cassette below. Press the flush button to let water flow into the bowl to rinse it clean. Then, close the flap again using the grey lever. If pressing the flush button does not release water, it’s usually because the toilet system isn’t getting fresh water or 12V power. This may happen if there is no water in the freshwater tank, if the water pump or power supply is switched off, or if the waste cassette is full.

Diagnostics & Steps to Resolve:

  1. Check the freshwater tank level.
Go to the main control panel inside the habitation door. Press the Fresh Water Tank monitor button to check the water level. If the tank is empty, you’ll need to refill it before the flush can work. To do this, drive to a freshwater refilling point at a campsite or dump station and fill the tank using the freshwater hose supplied with your motorhome. Once the tank is full, try the flush again.

  2. Check the water pump and 12V power.
Make sure the water pump is switched on at the main control panel.

    1. In The Suite, check the main control panel and confirm the water pump switch is on — the indicator light should be illuminated.

    2. In all other motorhomes, check that the 12V power is turned on. You’ll know it’s on if the green light in the corner of the panel is illuminated.

  3.  Check the toilet full indicator light.
Look at the small light next to the flush button on the toilet inside the bathroom.
    1. If it’s red, the toilet waste cassette is full and must be emptied before the flush will work again.
  4.  Test the flush again.
Once you’ve confirmed there is water, the water pump and 12V power are on, and the waste cassette is empty, press the flush button again to check if water flows into the bowl.
