Book a campervan rental in Auckland and head north following the Twin Coast Discovery Highway. Take a detour along the Whangaparaoa Peninsula north of Auckland, before travelling further north over the Brynderwyn Hills to Whangarei. Cross to the = West Coast and over the Hokianga Harbour to Kaitaia, Ahipara and then Cape Reinga at the very top of New Zealand. Return via the lovely island-studded East Coast.
